Disability Rights New Jersey

A private non-profit consumer directed organization to advocate for and advance the human, civil and legal rights of citizens of New Jersey with disabilities.

The Stephen Komninos Law

This law requires New Jersey's Department of Human Services to conduct two unannounced visits every year at group homes to evaluate whether patients are at risk of  abuse. Further, they must also notify parents within two hours if a patient is injured in addition to meeting with parents twice a year. What the provider’s are responsible for in implementing this Law?

Medicaid Managed long term Services and Supports (MLTSS)

MLTSS provides comprehensive services and supports, whether at home, in an assisted living facility, in community residential services, or in a nursing home.

Public Partnerships, LLC (PPL) 

PPL is the new Fiscal Intermediary for the Division of Developmental Disabilities, Division of Disability Services, and Division of Aging Services. These programs allow aging adults and individuals with disabilities to make choices about the services they receive, how they are delivered, and by whom. Direct link for their DDD section.

Home and Community Based Services

The goal of home and community-based services is to allow individuals in need of long-term care and supportive services to remain at home and in their communities without jeopardizing their safety.

Fee-for-Service Implementation

The New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities is shifting from a contract-based system of service reimbursement to a Medicaid-based, fee-for-service (FFS) reimbursement system.
